PLATTSBURGH — Tom and Carol Burdo of 66 Moffitt Road, Plattsburgh, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 19, 2009, with a surprise party at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Jamie Burdo. More than 75 family members and friends attended the event.
Thomas Burdo and Carol Burnell were married Sept. 26, 1959, at St. Joseph's Church, West Chazy, with the Rev. P. Leon Legault officiating.
The matron of honor was Marjorie Pote, the bridegroom's sister. Robert Pote, the bridegroom's brother-in-law, was best man.
Tom Burdo retired from Bouyea Baking Co. after 35 years. Carol Burdo was employed at several banks in the Plattsburgh area, including Marine Midland, located at North Country Shopping Center.
Their children and grandchildren are Tommy Burdo and his wife, Jamie, and son, Cooper; and Terry Burdo and his wife, Mindy, and daughter, Meegan, all of West Chazy.
Tom and Carol enjoy spending time with their family and grandchildren.
