LAKE PLACID — Mr. and Mrs. Alan Tuthill of Lake Placid announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Corryn, of Lake Placid, to Jason Robert Straight, also of Lake Placid, son of William and Lynda Straight of Jay.
Jason and Emily became engaged June 13 while kayaking on Upper Saranac Lake.
Emily Tuthill graduated from Northwood School in 2000 and Ithaca College in 2004 with a B.A. degree in English. In 2008, she received her master's degree in speech/language pathology from Plattsburgh State and is employed by the Adirondack Arc Children's Corner as a speech/language pathologist.
Jason Straight graduated from AuSable Valley Central School in 1995 and from Plattsburgh State in 2002 with a B.S. degree in accounting and business.He is employed as a project manager for ECP Building Envelope Specialists Inc. of Plattsburgh.He served in the Army National Guard from 1996 to 2002.
The couple plan to wed in August 2010.
