PERU — Thomas and Debbie Hackett of Peru announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer, of 13707 NYS Route 9N, AuSable Forks, to Travis Barton, also of 13707 NYS Route 9N. He is the son of Jerry and Sue Barton of Dry Bridge Road, AuSable Forks, and Brenda and Barry Clark of Terrace Way, AuSable Forks.
Jennifer Hackett graduated from AuSable Valley Central School in 1997 and Plattsburgh State in 2005 with a degree in elementary education and in 2008 with a master's degree in curriculum and instruction. She is a teacher's aide at Keene Central School and a waitress at Noon Mark Diner.
Travis Barton graduated from AuSable Valley Central in 1995 and CV-TEC in 2008 with a degree in computer technology. He owns and operates Adirondack Computer Solutions.
A July 31, 2010, wedding is being planned.
