PERU — Francis J. Kane and Carolyn A. Kane of 8 Homestead Way, Jay, celebrated their 50th anniversary Nov. 11, 2008. Their children gave them a surprise dinner at Pasquali's Restaurant in Peru. Their daughter, Wendy, made their anniversary cake.
Francis J. Kane and Carolyn A. Cornick were married Nov. 11, 1958, in Columbus, Ga., by the Rev. Griffin. Their wedding attendants were Dorothy Puckett and Wayne Puckett.
Francis retired from ORDA in 1990 and Carolyn retired from Uihlein Mercy Center in 1990.
Their children are Mrs. Jeffrey (Cindy) Estes of Naples, Fla., and Jay; Mrs. Eric (Wendy) Williams of AuSable Forks; Randy Kane (and wife, Rikki) of AuSable Forks; and Andy Kane (and wife, Wendy) of Jay. They have six grandchildren, a great-grandchild and three step-grandchildren.
Since retirement, Fran and Carolyn spent 13 winters in Lakeland, Fla., and are now at home in Jay. Carolyn works two days a week for ACAP from Elizabethtown as site manager in Wilmington for Senior Luncheon and Office for the Aging. Fran putters in his son's garage, AK Auto, and helps out.
