PLATTSBURGH - Katie Fredette and Stephen Simpson were married June 2, 2012, at St. Peter's Church, Plattsburgh, by Rev. John Yonkovig. The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Julie Fredette, of Plattsburgh. The groom is the son of Robert and Jan Simpson, of New Hartford.
Maid of honor was Sara Fredette, sister of the bride, of Erie, Pa. Best man was Scott Simpson, brother of the groom, of New Hartford.
Bridesmaids were Nicole McKenna, sister of the groom, of New Hartford, and Erin Tripp, friend of the bride, of Plattsburgh.
Ushers were Alex Fredette, brother of the bride, of Plattsburgh, and Jacob Fink, friend of the groom, of New Hartford.
Katie was escorted down the aisle by her parents, Joe and Julie Fredette. First reading was by Michael Whalen, uncle of the groom, the responsorial Psalm was read by Donna Fredette, aunt of the bride, and the second reading by Thomas Fredette, uncle of the bride. Prayers of the Faithful was read by Peggy and Jerry DeCelle, aunt and uncle of the bride. Presentation of the gifts was made by Mary Ellen and Roy Schultz, aunt and uncle of the groom. Perry Provost and Mitch Willette provided music and vocals.
Reception was held at West Side Ballroom, Plattsburgh, and music provided by disc jockey Tim Hartnett.
Katie graduated from Beekmantown High School in 2004 and LeMoyne College, Syracuse in 2008, with a bachelor’s degree in biology. In 2011, she completed her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Katie works in an endocrinology practice in Auburn.
Stephen graduated from New Hartford High School, in 2004 and LeMoyne College, Syracuse, in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in business. Stephen works in short term investment funds at The Bank of New York Mellon in Syracuse. Katie and Stephen reside in Marcellus and planned to take a wedding cruise to Bermuda.
