PLATTSBURGH — Francis and Bonnie Keysor celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise dinner held at The Butcher Block Restaurant, hosted by their children and grandchildren. Also in attendance were their best man, maid of honor and their siblings.
Francis and Bonnie were married on Aug. 26, 1961, in the Assumption of Mary Church in Redford where they are still parishioners.
Francis retired from Clinton Correctional Facility in 1996 after 39 years of service. Bonnie was a stay-at-home mom and provided day care for many children throughout the years.
Francis and Bonnie have four children: Chad and Debbie Keysor of Saranac, Eric and Jody Keysor of Saranac, Neal Keysor of Winter Garden, Fla., and Kara and Jeremy Goff of Saranac. They have nine grandchildren: Jordan, Kristen, Alyssa, Caleb, Tyler and Isabella Keysor, and Matt, Camden and Kellen Goff. A new grandchild is due in June.
Their children hired a photographer for family pictures and gave them an all-expenses paid trip to Perkins Cove, Maine, the same place they visited on their honeymoon 50 years ago.
A DVD made of their married life was priceless and will be treasured forever.
Francis and Bonnie received a Papal Blessing from the Pope in Rome.
