Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Remember, moderators are not allowed to edit any article comments. If an article comment fails any of the above criteria, the entire comment will be deleted.

Pivetta: 50 years

LYON MOUNTAIN - Americo and Sharron Pivetta, of Lyon Mountain, celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 7, 2012, surrounded by their family and friends, with an evening of dinner and dancing at the Lyon Mountain Legion, on the same day and same place they celebrated 50 years ago. The couple was surprised with an actual video of their wedding day, which they did not know existed.

Americo Pivetta and Sharron DuBray were married July 7, 1962, in St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain, by the Rev. McCabe.

Americo has been retired from Hulbert Bros. in Plattsburgh for three years. He is the town supervisor for the town of Dannemora, an active member of the Lyon Mountain American Legion and an avid Yankees fan.

Sharron has been retired from Haila Conant, CPA, in Plattsburgh for 15 years. She is active in the Lyon Mountain American Legion, has played piano at the Lyon Mountain Methodist Church for numerous years and enjoys going to the casino and is an avid Yankees fan.
