MORRISONVILLE — Glenn and Carol Gillespie of 50 Joyce Ave., Morrisonville, celebrated their 40th anniversary on July 6, 2008. A surprise anniversary party was given at the American Legion in Redford on Aug. 3 by their children, Trevor and Shannon Gillespie of Saranac, Neil and Nikki Gillespie of Cadyville, and Amie and Greg King of Beekmantown.
Glenn and Carol were married on July 6, 1968, by the Rev. Norman Poupore in the Assumption of Mary Church in Redford. They renewed their vows on Aug. 3, 2008, with the Rev. Joseph Elliott officiating. Their children and grandchildren stood with them during the renewal.
Glenn retired from Clinton Correctional Facility and is now manager of the Clinton County Fair. Carol also retired from the Clinton Correctional Facility.
Their children and seven grandchildren (Brandon, Joseph and Jordan Gillespie; Summer Rae and Brooke Gillespie; Lila and Gordy King) are the number-one most important things in their lives along with their family and friends.
