Don’t use profanity. This includes the term “tea bagger.”

Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

Remember, moderators are not allowed to edit any article comments. If an article comment fails any of the above criteria, the entire comment will be deleted.

Ashline: 50 years

LYON MOUNTAIN — Joseph R. and Fay Ashline of Lyon Mountain celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 21, 2012, at Hollywood Inn in Merrill. They were married July 21, 1962, at St. Bernard's Church by Rev. Harold McCabe.

Sharon Benjamin was the maid of honor and best man was Robert Benjamin. Bridesmaids were Fay's sisters, Trudy Wandtke, Kathleen Kiernan and May Lavalley. Ushers were Donald Alexander, Hulcey Ashline, and Arthur Parrotte.

The couple attended Lyon Mountain High School together.

Joseph served four years in the U.S. Air Force until 1964. He retired from N.Y.S. Department of Corrections.

Fay completed a program in Radiology and worked at CVPH Medical Center for over 50 years before retiring.

The couple have two children, Mrs. David (Alisa) Langille of Plattsburgh and Joseph M. Ashline and his wife Cristy of Morrisonville. They also have four grandchildren, Jason Miller, Stephanie Langille, Connor and Colby Ashline, and a great-grandchild, Rosalyn Pearl Miller.

An anniversary trip to Las Vegas, Nev., is planned for September.
