Johnson: 45 years


CHAZY — Raymond and Lola Johnson of Chazy celebrated their 45th anniversary Feb. 6, 2010.

Raymond N. Johnson and Lola A. McLuckey were married Feb. 6, 1965, in The Little Church Around the Corner in Manhattan, New York City.

Raymond retired from Wyeth-Ayerst after 30 years. He writes a monthly newspaper article about climate change for the Press-Republican. Lola retired from the Council on the Arts after 17 years. She went on to become a certified yoga instructor. They have resided in the North Country since 1969.

Their children are Jennifer Johnson and her husband, Reinaldo Figueroa, of Stony Brook; and Sarah Johnson Brown and her husband, Tom Brown, of Cumberland Head, Plattsburgh. They have six grandchildren.

The Johnsons are very active in their retirement, volunteering for numerous community not-for-profits. They love to travel the world, garden, hike, bike, ski, see plays, visit friends and family, and play with their six grandkids.
