PAUL SMITHS�— Outdoors writer and photographer Mike Lynch will give a slideshow presentation about his trip on the 740-mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Paul Smith's College VIC.
Lynch will talk about essential gear for this long-distance trip, challenges he faced along the way and some of the voyage's highlights involving people, places and wildlife he encountered.
The evening will begin with a short video trailer to the documentary on the Northern Forest Canoe Trail that Lynch is in the process of making.
The film is set to be shown in April at the Northern Forest Paddlers Film Festival, held at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts.
The Northern Forest Canoe Trail begins in Old Forge and ends on the Canadian border in Fort Kent, Maine.
Lynch, who lives in Saranac Lake, is a full-time outdoors writer and photographer for the Adirondack Daily Enterprise.
His works have been published in more than 25 magazines and newspapers, including the Adirondack Explorer, New York Outdoor News, and Canoe and Kayak magazines.
The presentation is the first of the VIC's Armchair Traveler lecture series.
