One arrest in Saranac Lake knife fight

SARANAC LAKE — A fight involving a knife ended with stitches for one man and arrest for another.

Saranac Lake Village Police responded to an altercation on Main Street at 2:20 a.m. Friday, where a group of people had gathered outside a local business, with two involved in a fight, said Chief Bruce Nason.

“One guy got cut,” he said.

Police arrested Carlos Bonet, 20, of Saranac Lake, charging him with second-degree assault, a felony; and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The other man suffered a 6-inch-or-so laceration on his neck, police said, that required sutures.

Bonet was arraigned and taken to Franklin County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail or $30,000 bond.

The incident appeared to be drug-related, Nason said.

He said the investigation was continuing and didn’t rule out other possible arrests.

FYI...
  • computer.jpg In fan fiction, your favorite characters do what you want them to

When J.J. Abrams took over the "Star Trek" franchise in 2009, he boldly went where the series hadn't gone before — romantically — pairing Uhura with Spock. Many fans disliked the change. Some loved it. Others didn't care, because they just wanted to see Kirk and Spock make out.
