Information session set on trip to China

PLATTSBURGH — A free information session for the North Country Chamber of Commerce Trip To China will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chamber office.

The trip is open to anyone, whether a chamber member or not.

The all-inclusive nine-day tour includes Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou with tours of the Great Wall, the Ming Tombs, Tian An Men Square, Sozhou Silk Factory, Yu Garden and more.

A side trip will take in the Terra Cotta Warriors.

The trip is set for Oct. 19 through 27 and costs $2,199 per person (based on double occupancy). This includes all meals, flights, English-speaking tour guides and more.

Some who went on the 2011 trip will be available at the session to answer questions.

Saranac Central Board meets Tuesday

SARANAC — The Saranac Central School Board meets 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the District Office.

Agenda items include a tax-cap presentation and a resolution to authorize a detailed energy audit and design to determine facility-improvement measures.

The public is welcome.

Adult-swim program ongoing at Chazy Central

CHAZY — Chazy Central Rural School has begun its adult open swim program.

Seven of eight sessions remain, each from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Those dates are Feb. 9 and 16; and March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29.

The cost for all the sessions is $20; per session is $4.

Those interested in swim times later in the day should express their interest to Liz Garrand at 846-7135, Ext. 478.

Those sessions may take place in evening hours only on weekdays.
