Beekmantown Council calls special meeting
BEEKMANTOWN — The Beekmantown Town Council will hold a special meeting at 1 p.m. Monday in the upstairs meeting room at the Town Hall, 571 Spellman Road.

The board will act on a resolution regarding the permissive referendum for Water District 2 and then hold a regular session. Board meetings are open to all.

DEC reschedules canceled meetings
ALBANY — The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has rescheduled two public meetings that were canceled due to this week's storm.

A public meeting on the draft amendment for the St. Regis Canoe Area Unit Management Plan will now be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, in the Freer Science Building auditorium at Paul Smith's College.

A public meeting on the draft unit-management plans for Jay Mountain Wilderness and Hurricane Mountain Primitive Area will now be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11, in the auditorium of the Keene Central School.

A presentation on Adirondack Park Fire Tower Study will be made at both meetings, and comments will be taken.

Copies of the documents are available on compact discs at the DEC office in Ray Brook; town offices in Santa Clara, Brighton, Harrietstown, Elizabethtown, Jay, Keene and Lewis; and at Saranac Lake Free Library, Joan Weil Library at Paul Smiths College, Elizabethtown Library, Keene Public Library and Keene Valley Public Library.
