PLATTSBURGH — Bruce Flynn spent his entire career watching over inmates.
Now retired, the former correction sergeant will soon return to the state-prison system. Only this time, it will be in handcuffs and on the other side of the law.
The 59-year-old Chazy man has been facing charges since a violent Oct. 8 ordeal inside a local woman's residence.
Police said Flynn had broken into the woman's residence, restrained her while displaying what appeared to be a rifle and threatened the woman, whom he used to date.
He recently returned to Clinton County Court and admitted to two of the charges against him: second-degree burglary and criminal use of a firearm.
The plea satisfied the other indictment charges of menacing and unlawful imprisonment.
Flynn remains behind bars at Clinton County Jail pending sentencing next week.
Staff with the Clinton County District Attorney's Office said he now faces up to 15 years in prison.
Flynn retired from Altona Correctional Facility in February 2008.
