Recent Franklin County Court sentencings

---- — Cases heard before County Court Judge Robert G. Main Jr.:

Michael Benware, 40, of 58 Academy St., Malone was sentenced to two 1½-year sentences in state prison for two counts of felony probation violation.

He is to serve the terms concurrently followed by two years of post-release supervision.

Donald J. Hamoy II, 36, of 18 Rooseveltown Road, Rooseveltown pleaded not guilty to a one-count, grand-jury indictment for fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, stemming from an incident March 27.

He was sent to County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 insurance bond and is due back in court Oct. 27.

Kevin M. Handly, 41, of 58 Washington St., Malone was sentenced to six months in County Jail for two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, stemming from an incident De. 22, 2009.

He was originally indicted on two counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Handly was also ordered to serve five years of probation and pay fines, surcharges and restitution totaling $41,536.

Teiothorake Seymour, 29, of 27 Jimmy White Road, Akwesasne was sentenced to 1½ years in state prison for a felony violation of probation.

He was also ordered to serve two years of post-release supervision.

James Lacey, 22, of 169 Park Ave., Saranac Lake was sentenced to one to three years in state prison for a felony violation of probation.

He is also expected to be sentenced Oct. 25 after pleading guilty to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, stemming from an incident April 13.

Lacey was originally charged under Superior Court Information rather than a formal grand-jury indictment for fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance outside its original container.
