Knights starting medical-equipment exchange

PLATTSBURGH — Knights of Columbus Council 13127 in Plattsburgh is forming a medical-equipment exchange program.

The council is seeking donation of non-motorized wheelchairs, walkers, tub chairs and stationary bikes. Donated items will be redistributed at no cost to community members in need.

Applicants will be placed on a waiting list, and equipment will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

Plattsburgh City Council to meet tonight

PLATTSBURGH — The City of Plattsburgh Common Council will take action on several items at tonight’s meeting.

Among them are a request from Paul Bardis to block Grace Avenue at the Cornelia and Ash street entrances for a block party set for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, and a request to allow the Adopt-A-Spot program to let Shaun O’Connell to plant three trees in Westelcom Park between Margaret and Durkee streets.

The meeting begins with a work session at 5 p.m., followed by the regular meeting at 5:30 p.m.

Both are open to the public.
