Press-Republican
---- — PLATTSBURGH — Face it, Super Bowl viewing is about way more than football.
It has become an advertising tradition for new high-profile ads to premiere at the event because of its huge audience. So, rating of the commercials has evolved into a tradition, as well.
Press-Republican Facebook readers especially liked the Dodge commercial that showed striking images of American farmers while a recording played of iconic radio news commentator Paul Harvey. And they were also moved by the touching Budweiser Clydesdale commercial that shows a foal growing into an adult horse and recognizing its caretaker.
They gave mixed reviews to Beyonce’s half-time performance.
We asked our Facebook readers about their favorite commercials and what they thought of Beyonce. Here are some of their responses:
Christina Marie: “I am in love with the Budweiser commercial! It put tears In my eyes! And don’t care for Beyonce!”
Melissa Barney-Meacham: “Jeep and Dodge commercials, and she ROCKED the house.”
Renee Nichols: “The M&M commercial where they sang to Meatloaf and the Budweiser with foal that recognizes the guy that hand fed it. I think Beyonce did awesome; glad the girls from Destiny’s Child were there.”
Bonnie Shatraw Wingler: “KIA commercial with the girl robot that kicked the guy kicking the car. IMO Beyonce performance was better suited for a strip club than family entertainment.”
Kim Mason: “Taco Bell’s wild seniors!”
Brenda Bennor Pritchard: “Beyonce was awesome.”
Jolita Aubin: “The Sketchers commercial with the guy and the gazelle in cahoots.”
Amber Nichols: “The Budweiser commercial with the Clydesdale, & not a Beyonce fan (thought they could have put in better entertainment).”
Karen Yeager: “Dodge’s I am a Farmer.”
Tammy Whitty Rock: “Dodge Ram ‘I am a Farmer’ was my favorite; second favorite was the Budweiser commercial.”
Liz Garrant: “Beyonce was hot as all heck.”
Janice Bessette: “So God made a farmer (commercial) Wasn’t crazy about the halftime show.”
