Your Village: Dannemora

DANNEMORA — Dannemora firefighters will soon have a better communication system.

The Dannemora Village Board of Trustees has unanimously approved a radio upgrade for the Dannemora Volunteer Fire Department.

Since the Village Board had not budgeted for the expenditure, $3,932 was allocated from the Fire Department’s equipment reserve, according to minutes from a recent meeting.

OTHER ACTION

At the same Village Board meeting:

Lease agreements: A resolution was passed to charge the Northern New York American-Canadian Genealogical Society $100 per month for a 12-month lease.

Another resolution set the Saranac Cooperative Nursery School’s rent as $250 for a 10-month lease.

Appointments: Hailea Cross and Byron W. Wing were appointed as probationary firefighters.

Election Day: Polls will be open noon to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, for village elections. Two trustee positions and the town-justice seat will be up for election. 

Next meeting: The next meeting of the Dannemora Village Board will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at village offices.

All board meetings are open to the public.
