PORT KENT — A fire left a house a total loss Saturday.
At 3:48 p.m. Saturday afternoon, the Keeseville Fire Department responded to a call of a structure fire at 33 Lake St. in Port Kent.
Keeseville Fire Department Chief David Perky said the fire was fully involved when his department arrived.
The two-story home is a total loss, Perky said.
It was unknown whether anyone was home at the time the fire started, but no one was injured, Perky said.
Almost 50 firefighters aided in extinguishing the blaze, he said.
Fire investigators were still at the site at 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No further information was available Saturday.
Peru, South Plattsburgh and AuSable Forks fire departments assisted Keeseville, with South Plattsburgh on standby at the Keeseville station. Willsboro Fire Department was also on stand by.
