Public invited to meet new PCS leader today

PERU — Peru Central School District will host a public meet-and-greet session with new Superintendent of Schools Dr. Patrick Brimstein from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. today in the community room in the High School.

Brimstein has held the post since July 1.

Light refreshments will be served.

City School Board meeting coming up Thursday

PLATTSBURGH — The Plattsburgh City School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Duken Building.

The board will recognize recent retirees and receive a data report from the High School administration.

Date changed for public hearing on sign variance  

BLACK BROOK — A public hearing on a proposed business sign has been changed from this coming Thursday to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at the Black Brook Town Hall.

Town Supervisor Ricky Nolan said the hall, located at 18 North Main St. in the town’s hamlet of AuSable Forks, is a polling place for Thursday’s Republican primary, which is why the hearing date has been changed.

The purpose of the hearing is for the Town Council to review a proposal for a variance on a sign for a proposed Family Dollar store in AuSable Forks.

Dannemora Town Clerk’s Office closed Sept. 18

DANNEMORA — The Dannemora Town Clerk’s Office will be closed Tuesday, Sept 18. 

It will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday that week only and will resume normal hours thereafter.

Regular window hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
