PLATTSBURGH — The brightly lit Canadian Pacific Railway Holiday Train will be passing back through the area this evening.
The train made its first local stop late on Thanksgiving night, when it chugged into the Rouses Point Station.
The schedule for tonight is:
Ticonderoga: 5 to 5:30 p.m., Pell’s Crossing next to Amtrak Station, Route 74 (park at Fort Ticonderoga and take the shuttle).
Port Henry: 6:30 to 7 p.m., Amtrak Station.
Plattsburgh: 9:15 to 9:45 p.m., Amtrak Station.
People who attend are asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the local Food Shelf.
After stopping in Plattsburgh, the train, which is covered with thousands of holiday lights, will continue on to southern Ontario and the U.S. Midwest.
Entertainers on the train include the group Prescott, a brother/sister singing duo; singer/songwriter Adam Puddington; and special guests Shaun Verreault and Willy Porter.
Along with the donations brought by people who come to see the train, CP Railway makes a monetary contribution of its own to local food shelves.
