Deadline for Clinton County school tax nears
PLATTSBURGH — Clinton County Treasurer Joseph Giroux is reminding property owners that the final day for the collection of school taxes is Nov. 30.

The original bill should be mailed with payment that must include the school penalty plus a 5-percent county fee to: Clinton County Treasurer, 137 Margaret St., Suite 205, Plattsburgh, NY, 12901.

School taxes remaining unpaid after Nov. 30 will be re-levied on the January tax bill and are subject to the prevailing school penalty plus a 7-percent county penalty.

Taxpayers who are using the installment payment program must U.S. postmark their third installment no later than Nov. 30. If the final payment is not made by that time, unpaid installments will be re-levied on the January tax bill and are subject to the 7-percent penalty.
