Altona Town Council calls special meeting
ALTONA —The Altona Town Council has scheduled a special meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Altona Town Hall, 3124 Miner Farm Road.
The purpose of the meeting is to authorize the transfer of funds for the purchase of highway equipment.
The meeting is open to all.
Salvation Army to host free holiday dinner
PLATTSBURGH — For a third year in a row, the Plattsburgh Salvation Army has partnered with the Plattsburgh Elks Lodge to host a free Thanksgiving dinner.
The dinner will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at the Elks Lodge, 63 Cumberland Ave., Plattsburgh.
Officials are expecting to serve up to 300 people.
Transportation is available from the Salvation Army's South Catherine Street location to the Elks Lodge.

Food packages available in Clinton County
PLATTSBURGH —The Clinton County Food Cooperative will have food packages available for December.
There is no age or income limit. Food stamps are accepted, and people can sign up through Dec. 4.
For $21, recipients will receive a Bavarian holiday ham, chicken patties, hamburger, beef hot dogs, peeled butternut squash and baby carrots.
There are also three special packages:
Special 1: cranberry and apple stuffed boneless pork loin roast for $15.75.
Special 2, for $22.75, contains beef meatballs, Buffalo chicken wings, sweet Italian rope sausage, cocktail franks.
Special 3: apple and cranberry stuffed pork chops, honey-mustard chicken breasts, beef patties, breakfast sausage links and chicken patties for $32.
You do not have to purchase a co-op unit to buy the specials. Delivery will be Dec. 17. Pickup times may vary at each outreach site.

Art Detective program offered in Morrisonville
MORRISONVILLE — The Morrisonville Art Club is offering an Art Detective program for girls to take part in Girl Scout activities.
The six-week Art Club begins Jan. 13 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. at the Morrisonville Elementary School cafeteria and will be held on consecutive Wednesday evenings. The cost is $17 to cover supplies and registration.
