ALTONA — An Altona man is facing charges for allegedly engaging in sexual acts with a young child.
Plattsburgh-based State Police arrested Shawn M. Drake midday Wednesday on charges of first-degree criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities believe the 43-year-old had intimate contact with a child younger that 13 years old on at one least one occasion.
The felony sex-act charge accuses him of engaging in oral contact with the alleged victim.
After his 11 a.m. arrest, Drake was sent to Clinton County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
He was released from custody later Wednesday after posting bail.
He will reappear in court later this month to face the allegations.
No additional information about his arrest was available Thursday.
