BURKE — Absentee ballots returned incumbent Town Supervisor Albert Johnson to his seat for another two-year term Wednesday.

Johnson, a Republican, was leading Democratic challenger Donald Strachan by a vote of 208 to 200 on Election Day.

The 41 absentee ballots were counted Wednesday by Franklin County Board of Elections officials.

Republican Party Elections Commissioner Veronica King and Democratic Party Commissioner Kathy Fleury said that after the count, Johnson increased his lead, ending up with 220 votes compared to 210 for Strachan.

The Election Day result of a close race among five people for two Town Council seats was also unchanged after absentees were counted.

Incumbent David Vincent ended up with 195 votes; Robert "Bob" Boyer, 168 votes; Richard McCoy, 155 votes; Kenneth "Jerry" Tacey, 112 votes; and Bill Wescott, 155 votes.
