Saranac Central board meeting scheduled
SARANAC — The Saranac Central Board of Education will meet today to discuss an internal-audit services bid award and a person's employment.

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the District Office in Dannemora and will also feature a 2009 student report-card presentation.

The meeting is open to all.

NCCC trustees to meet in Saranac Lake
SARANAC LAKE — The North Country Community College Board of Trustees will meet at noon Tuesday in Hodson Hall, room 135, 23 Santanoni Ave.

Agenda items are expected to include reports from administrators, personnel appointments and a possible executive session.

The meeting is open to all.

Winter outerwear being collected
SCHUYLER FALLS — The Town of Schuyler Falls is collecting winter outerwear.

There is a special need for children's winter outer clothing, including ski pants, which are always in high demand.

Coats, hats, gloves, boots, ski pants, etc., may be dropped off at the Town Hall.

Also, anyone in need of any of these items may call 563-1129.

Christmas Bureau applications sought
BEEKMANTOWN — Stacie Winchell will be taking Christmas Bureau applications at the Beekmantown Town Hall for the residents of Beekmantown.

Applications will be accepted through Dec. 9, Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. only.

Call for an appointment at 563-4650, or just stop in.

Westville group offering Memory Tree
WESTVILLE — The Westville Historical Organization will be offering a Christmas Memory Tree.

The organization, located at 3510 Route 37, Westville Corners, is selling the bulbs for $1 each. The tree will be up until Jan. 15.

All names will be entered into the permanent Memory Book at the History Center.

Knights selling Memory Tree ribbons
LYON MOUNTAIN — Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council 7215 at St. Bernard's Church in Lyon Mountain is planning its annual Memory Tree for the Christmas season.

Ribbons can be purchased for $1 each in memory of a loved one. The tree lighting will be Dec. 5 at the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Bernard's Church.

Brainardsville Mitten Tree planned
BRAINARDSVILLE — The women of the Brainardsville United Methodist Church are sponsoring their 16th-annual Mitten Tree.

They are accepting donations of new hats, gloves, mittens and scarves, to be given to area children and adults.

Donations of money received will be used to supply extra hats, mittens and other needs.
