PLATTSBURGH — A woman who drove to pick up an acquaintance who was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated now faces the same charge.
The Clinton County Sheriff's Department reported Tyler W. Blake, 21, of West Chazy was ticketed for avoiding a traffic control device in the City of Plattsburgh at about 1 a.m. Sunday. He was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated.
Blake was processed at the Clinton County Sheriff's Office and released to appear at Plattsburgh City Court at a later date.
While he was waiting for a ride, an off-duty sheriff's deputy driving his own vehicle was almost struck by a vehicle. The deputy followed that vehicle to the Clinton County Sheriff's Department, where Hailey Montemorano, 21, of Plattsburgh planned to give Blake a ride.
She was interviewed by deputies and arrested for driving while intoxicated and ticketed for an improper left turn. A breath test revealed Montemorano's alleged blood-alcohol content to be greater than that alleged of Blake.
She was released and is scheduled to appear in Plattsburgh Town Court at a later date.
