Former corrections sergeant remains jailed

PLATTSBURGH — A retired corrections sergeant wants a jury to decide whether he threatened a local woman with a gun.

Bruce C. Flynn was indicted last month after he allegedly broke into the woman's residence, restrained her and displayed what appeared to be a rifle.

Authorities believe that the 59-year-old also threatened to kill the woman during the alleged attack on Oct. 8.

Flynn has pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal use of a firearm.

He returned to Clinton County Court Monday and demanded a jury trial, officials with the Clinton County District Attorney's Office said.

Flynn is now due back in court Nov. 30 for a pre-trial conference.

He remains in custody at Clinton County Jail on $250,000 bail or $500,000 bond.

The veteran officer retired from Altona Correctional Facility in February 2008.
