DWI crackdown through this weekend
PLATTSBURGH — Through the end of this weekend, local law-enforcement will be out in full force looking for anyone driving under the influence.

Using sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols, authorities hope to deter drunken driving and help ensure roadway safety.

Anyone found driving with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or higher will be under arrest, officials said.

The crackdown is the sixth of seven held each year.

The next will run from Nov. 20 to Jan. 2 during the holiday season.
