PLATTSBURGH — Road construction is continuing throughout Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties.
Crews ask that motorists use caution when driving through work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
Here is a look at some of the major work occurring this week:
CLINTON COUNTY
Interstate 87, Exit 43: The left shoulder of the northbound lane is closed 1/2 mile south of Exit 43 on the bridge over Locust Street,
Route 11, Ellenburg: Crews will continue highway rehabilitation between the intersection of routes 11 and 190 and the Mooers/Altona line. Traffic will be controlled by signs and flaggers as necessary.
Interstate 87, Exit 38A: Bridge construction will occur until further notice between exits 38A and 39.
Route 22, Plattsburgh: There may be daily lane closures in the vicinity of Interstate 87.
ESSEX COUNTY
Route 9, Chesterfield: Traffic will flow in a single lane in alternating directions and will be controlled by a temporary traffic signal at the Chesterfield/Lewis line.
Route 86, Wilmington: Traffic will flow in a single lane in alternating directions at the Wilmington/Jay line to Route 431. Crews are working on the bridge over the Ausable River one-half mile north of Fox Farm Road.
Interstate 87, Exit 32: Crews are performing road construction in both directions from Exit 32 to the AuSable/Chesterfield line. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions.
