DANNEMORA — Residents in the Village of Dannemora will see a 1-percent decrease in the tax levy during the next fiscal year.
In the recently announced budget, which is expected to be approved next month, the levy — the amount to be raised by taxes — is expected to drop by $1,829.
The general fund will include a 3-percent raise for employees and elected officials.
The village will budget for paving and the replacement of storm drains.
Funds will also be used to replace three sets of turnout gear for the Fire Department, the computer in the Clerk's Office and two windows in the nursery school.
Officials plan to purchase two radios and a hot-water tank at the garage.
The village will continue the Summer Performance programs at the gazebo, which are partially funded by the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts.
Residents can expect to see a 27-percent, or $75, drop in sewer rates, with each unit costing $200.
The water rate is expected to stay the same at a unit rate of $110.
As in years past, installment payments will be split in half for both the water and sewer.
A portion of the water budget will help complete work on the water line on Bouck Street and replace the water line on Clark Street, from Cook to Bouck streets.
Officials also hope to complete the playground project and upgrade the pumping station at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
