Malone woman arrested for alleged child abuse

MALONE — A Malone woman is behind bars for allegedly abusing her 3-month-old son.

Village Police arrested Chantelle Pittsley, 20, for second-degree assault, a felony.

The arrest came after an investigation into a child abuse complaint from Franklin County Child Abuse Services, which was filed at 3:13 a.m. on May 11, officials said.

The injuries were allegedly inflicted over a two-week span. Details of the injuries are unavailable at this time.

Pittsley was arraigned before Judge John Marsden and then remanded to county jail on a bail of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond.

She is scheduled to return to Village Court on Friday. The investigation is ongoing, but officials say no other charges are pending.
