SARANAC LAKE — The 2010 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival is getting into full swing.
This year's theme is "Adirondack Cowboys."
The Gala Parade, which always draws huge crowds, is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, in downtown Saranac Lake.
The music for this year's parade includes the Ambassadors Drum and Bugle Corp, Tribal People's Percussion Ensemble, Blue Brothers Brass Band, Funny Funky Brass Band, the Spirit of Scotland Bagpipers and the Saranac Lake Central High School Marching Band.
"Our Gala Parade, which is a major highlight of Carnival Week, continues in the tradition of presenting fine marching bands," Winter Carnival Chairman Jeff Dickson said in a news release.
"We have seen a large number of applications for parade floats this year, and that is very exciting. This year's parade promises to be better than ever."
There's still time to join the parade; applications must be received by Feb. 10. Forms and instructions are available at the Web site www.saranaclakewintercarnival.com and at the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, 193 River St.
