Road Construction Roundup: Nov. 6, 2012

PLATTSBURGH — Road construction is continuing throughout Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties.

Crews ask that motorists use caution when driving through work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.

Here is a look at some of the major work occurring this week:

CLINTON COUNTY

Interstate 87, Exit 43: The left shoulder of the northbound lane is closed one-half mile south of Exit 43 on the bridge over Locust St.

Route 11, Ellenburg: Crews will continue highway rehabilitation between the intersection of routes 11 and 190 and the Mooers/Altona line. Traffic will be controlled by signs and flaggers.

Route 22, Plattsburgh: There will be daily lane closures until further notice due to road construction. A temporary bridge is now in place and will be in use for eight months.

ESSEX COUNTY

Route 9, Chesterfield: Traffic will be controlled by a temporary traffic light and will flow in a single lane in alternating directions at the Chesterfield/Lewis line.

Route 22, Willsboro: Traffic will flow in a single lane in alternating directions from the Willsboro/Essex line to the Chesterfield/Willsboro line due to road construction that will occur until further notice.

Route 86, Wilmington: Traffic will flow in a single lane in alternating directions at the Wilmington/Jay line to Route 431. Crews are working on the bridge over the Ausable River one-half mile north of Fox Farm Road.

Old Military Road, Lake Placid: Crews are finishing the ongoing reconstruction project. There still may be some daily lane closures.

Interstate 87, Exit 32: Crews are performing road construction in both directions from Exit 32 to the AuSable/Chesterfield line. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in both directions.

Route 9N, Keene: Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in alternating directions at the intersection with Route 73. Traffic will be controlled by a temporary traffic signal.

Route 9N, Port Henry: Traffic will be reduced to a single lane in alternating directions from Bridge Road to County Route 2 due to road construction over Grove Brook at Island Way.

FRANKLIN COUNTY

County Route 52, Chateaugay: Crews are reconstructing the road between the intersection with Route 11 and the Canadian border. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers as necessary.
