PORT HENRY — A National Grid crew arrived at shortly before 5 p.m. to restore electricity to a section of the village here.
The power company had thought the 2:30 p.m. outage to Main Street between Rice Lane and Elizabeth Street and Elizabeth and Grove streets had possibly been caused by a failed transformer. However, it was found a homeowner on Shea Lane had cut down a tree that accidentally fell on power lines.
It was not known when the electricity would be turned on again.
