Another truck will carry items to Sandy victims
KEESEVILLE — A collection for Hurricane Sandy victims takes place from 9 a.m. to noon today at the Keeseville Elks Lodge 2072.
This will be the second load of needed items sent from the North Country to Highland, N.J.
Needs are: household brooms and dustpans; mold ventilator face masks; contractor garbage bags; plastic storage bins; small kitchen appliances; laundry detergent; plastic snow shovels; metal rakes; any kinds of tools; sponge mops; dish detergent; fabric softener; dryer sheets; space heaters; mold spray such as Lysol disinfectant; and new twin- and queen-sized mattresses and box springs.
Storm victims are beginning to stock up on Sheetrock and supplies such as Sheetrock nails and tape; and painting supplies such as trays, brushes and rollers, a press release said.
No clothes or blankets are needed this trip since there was such a great response earlier in the recovery effort.

Plattsburgh Airport to host master-plan open house
PLATTSBURGH — Plattsburgh International Airport is finalizing its master-plan project and invites input from the public at an open house set for 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, in the second-floor meeting room of the Old Clinton County Courthouse, 133 Margaret St.
The plan includes focus on: sponsor’s vision; forecast of future demand; identification of assets and deficiencies; consideration of alternatives; graphic representation of development; phasing plan for development; complements/supports local and regional development.

MALONE — The equalization rates for the $100 million Franklin County budget for 2013 adopted Thursday by county legislators have been set.
The equalization rates per $1,000 of assessed-property value are listed for 2013, followed by the current-year figure: Bangor, $4.09 and $4.06; Bellmont, $4.09 and $4.06; Bombay, $132.28 and $131.22; Brandon, $4.54 and $4.41; Brighton, $5.22 and $4.92; Burke, $6.58 and $6.12; Chateaugay, $4.09 and $4.10; Constable, $37.27 and $36.36; Dickinson, $4.13 and $4.11; Duane, $4.80 and $4.78; Fort Covington, $4.14 and $4.11; Franklin, $4.09 and $4.06; Harrietstown, $4.09 and $4.06; Malone, $4.89 and $4.83; Moira, $5.98 and $5.96; Santa Clara, $4.09 and $4.27; Tupper Lake, $4.10 and $4.07; Waverly, $4.25 and $4.12; and Westville, $4.94 and $5.10.
