Correction officer arrested for alleged drug possession

WARRENSBURG — A correction officer was arrested on a felony drug charge following a highway traffic stop.

Calvin D. Waldron, 25, of Saranac was headed north on Interstate 87 at about 8:30 p.m. Sept. 7 when he was pulled over by Queensbury-based State Police.

Upon investigation, police allegedly found Waldron to be in possession of an illegal, unspecified narcotic drug and by 9 p.m., he was taken into custody.

Waldron was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, a felony.

He was also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic instrument, both misdemeanors.

Waldron appeared in the Town of Warrensburg Court before being remanded to Warren County Jail in lieu of an unspecified amount of bail.

Wednesday, police said they were not releasing any further details related to the arrest because the investigation remained open.

  • computer.jpg In fan fiction, your favorite characters do what you want them to

When J.J. Abrams took over the "Star Trek" franchise in 2009, he boldly went where the series hadn't gone before — romantically — pairing Uhura with Spock. Many fans disliked the change. Some loved it. Others didn't care, because they just wanted to see Kirk and Spock make out.
