PLATTSBURGH — Raymond "Foxy" Gagnon's federal child-porn trial has been delayed.
The 61-year-old retired teacher was set to go on trial this month for allegedly purchasing and possessing child pornography, but federal officials said this week that the proceeding has been adjourned until Nov. 2.
Gagnon remains free on restrictions, including electronic-home monitoring with limited excursions allowed, pending the trial, which will take place in Albany.
He has pleaded not guilty to possessing and receiving child pornography.
Gagnon was arrested in June after he was allegedly linked to an international child-porn ring run through the Internet.
During the investigation into his alleged activities, Gagnon allowed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials to search his personal computer, where they allegedly recovered hundreds of images of child pornography.
Since retiring from Stafford Middle School in 2005, Gagnon has occasionally served as a substitute teacher within the City School district and others locally.
He is well-known within the community for his frequent event broadcasts on Charter Cable Access television and his former blog, "On the Sly," for the Press-Republican.
That blog has been suspended pending the outcome of the case.
Though he has appeared locally to face the allegations since his arrest, federal officials said the case has been moved to Albany for trial.
