Standish teen killed in crash

ELIZABETHTOWN — A Standish teen was killed in a motor-vehicle collision Saturday evening. 

Nicole “Nikki” Baker, 17, died following an automobile crash on the Lincoln Pond Road in Elizabethtown. 

Lewis-based State Police responded to the scene of the collision around 9:49 p.m., according to a media release. 

Baker, as well as two other occupants of the vehicle, Jennifer Chappell and Keith Denton Jr., were transported to Elizabethtown Community Hospital for treatment, police said.

Baker was pronounced deceased at the hospital. 

Chappell and Denton were transferred to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vt. They were released Sunday after treatment. 

Police and the Troop B Collision Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate the crash. 

Baker graduated Friday from Northern Adirondack High School in Ellenburg where she was a member of the tennis team for the past two years. 

No further information was available Sunday evening.
