City sees fewer complaints as college returns

PLATTSBURGH — City officials say the start of the college semester went relatively smoothly, compared to some of the past antics of returning students.

At the City of Plattsburgh Common Council meeting Thursday, Mayor Donald Kasprzak said, "There were a couple of incidents that bothered us ... but nothing really out of the ordinary."

He said the city saw fewer issues and complaints than in past years.

City officials closely monitored the Center City action and addressed problems as they arose, Kasprzak said.

Fewer than a dozen arrests were made for low-level violations last weekend, he said.
