PLATTSBURGH — Police say Christopher Scott leaped the counter at Domino’s Pizza, grabbing a $20 bill and two phones before taking off.
Plattsburgh City Police arrested the New York City man at about 1 a.m. Dec. 5, near Starbucks on Cornelia Street, a short distance from the pizza shop.
Scott, 21, is a Clinton Community College student.
Shortly before 10 p.m. Dec. 4, he allegedly entered Domino’s and ordered food. He reached over the sales counter, trying to pull out the cash drawer, according to City Police. When the drawer wouldn’t open, Scott jumped over the counter and took a $20 bill and a cordless business telephone from the employee, police said.
Then he jumped back over the counter with the money and two phones in hand.
Scott didn’t display a weapon, and no one was injured, police said.
He left the pizza eatery a short time later with the $20 and a phone, police said. Authorities would not say whether Scott paid for or left with the food he had ordered.
Scott was charged with third-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny, both felonies; and second-degree criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court on Dec. 5 and was taken to Clinton County Jail. His bail was set at $40,000 cash or $80,000 bond. He was still jailed as of Wednesday afternoon.
