Redesigned Town of Plattsburgh website unveiled

PLATTSBURGH — The Town of Plattsburgh has unveiled a new, more visitor-friendly website.

The website, www.townofplattsburgh.com, offers information on town policies, upcoming events, the municipality’s history and more. The town realized the need for a redesigned website due to the exponential growth in the number of users in the last few years, a press release said.

To encourage the public to visit the new site, the Town of Plattsburgh Website Scavenger Hunt offers prizes to those who participate.

The answers to 16 hunt questions bring visitors to the page for each department, which draws them to navigate around the site so they learn the layout and get a sense of where to look for various offerings.

Scavengers will need to discover how many miles of road the town maintains throughout the year, who to contact for lead and copper testing, and, among other questions, how often water bills are sent out.

Entries with all the questions answered correctly will be put into a drawing for one of five $50 gift cards donated to the town by an anonymous patron. The entry form is available on the site’s homepage.

The deadline to submit entries to the Town Supervisor’s Office is 4 p.m. Feb. 28.

For information, call 562-6800 or email info@townofplattsburgh.org.

Employees of the Town of Plattsburgh and their families are not eligible to participate in this contest.

  • Bodily waste can help solve the energy crisis, author says

Bodily waste is widely considered a topic not to be discussed in polite company; it's something to be flushed and forgotten. But a new book argues that waste, in all its human and animal forms, is worth getting to know intimately.
