Creating a perfect wedding

WESTVILLE — "Weddings by the Mis'ess," a wedding design, planning and coordination business, has been launched by Westville native Melissa Stark Baldwin.

A 2002 graduate of Salmon River Central School in Fort Covington, Baldwin studied at the New York Institute of Technology, graduating in 2008, magna cum laude, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design. She has practiced in the commercial interior design industry for several years.

Craving a creative change, Baldwin has turned her talents to the wedding design and coordination industry with Weddings by the Mis'ess. She offers unique and creative techniques to the bride, proven ways to assist with stress-free wedding planning and decisions.

Helping brides brainstorm unique themes, color schemes, materials, flowers and keeping it all organized is her specialty. She also caters to the "do-it-yourself" bride, who enjoys the planning process but also understands that having her rehearsal and wedding professionally coordinated is vital to enjoying her wedding day.

Prepared to handle any unforeseen emergencies, Baldwin's help will allow the bride to relax and be herself as she embarks on this sacred rite of passage and makes the transformation from "Miss" to "Mrs."

"My passion as a wedding designer and coordinator is driven by my love for all architecture and interior design, combined with producing beautiful events and, more importantly, happy brides," she said.

An allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers, her wedding designer and coordinator talents are coupled with two years of culinary-arts experience.

"Whether the bride needs wedding design and planning from step one or help tying up loose ends before the big day, I'm here for her," said Baldwin, who is the daughter of Howard and Judy Stark of Westville.

Weddings by the Mis'ess is headquartered in Clifton Park, but Baldwin's connections to the Adirondack region and the North Country have prepared her to plan and implement weddings and important events anywhere from the Albany Capital district to Lake Placid to the Canadian border.

She may be reached at P.O. Box 1251, Clifton Park, NY 12065-0660. Call 557-2845 or email melissa@weddingsby themrs.com. She is also on Facebook and Twitter.
