Beekmantown School Board meets tonight
BEEKMANTOWN -- The Beekmantown Central School Board will meet at 6:15 tonight in the Middle/High School library.
Agenda items include adoption of the 2008-09 school calendar and the 2008-09 budget.
A motion may be made for an executive session to discuss a particular person's employment history.

Plattsburgh Public Library has special offerings
PLATTSBURGH -- Plattsburgh Public Library is celebrating National Library Week with special events.
This week, libraries across the nation join together to remind people that public libraries are dynamic, modern community centers for learning, information and entertainment, according to a news release from Plattsburgh Public Library Director Stanley Ransom.
Thanks to the Plattsburgh Friends of the Library, the Hale-Walter Art Gallery is displaying local artwork and the library is also featuring creations made as part of the annual "Pretty Pots" fundraiser. Library visitors can bid on the earthenware pottery in a silent auction to benefit the Children's Room.
The Spring Book Sale will be held April 17 to 19 upstairs in the auditorium.
From May to June, the "Blooms and Blossoms" art exhibit will be held, with prizes for the best artwork.
The library reminds people that it has available large-print books, the latest fiction and non-fiction books, directories and other aids in the Reference Room, federal and state tax forms available for pickup, DVDs, CDs and audio books.
The library can offer the personal assistance of a librarian to help find what you are looking for, online or on the shelves.
Saranac Lake lifts overnight parking ban
SARANAC LAKE -- The overnight parking ban on Village of Saranac Lake streets has been lifted.
On-street parking will be allowed. However, the Saranac Lake Police Department is reminding resident that should the area experience a large snowstorm where snow removal is necessary, the parking ban will again be in effect.
Vehicles would be subject to tickets and possibly being towed to facilitate snow removal in that instance.
County Legislature agenda planned
PLATTSBURGH -- The Clinton County Legislature will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Legislative Chambers, 137 Margaret St. in Plattsburgh.
Among the resolutions to be acted upon are: a contract with Champlain Valley Family Center, an application for funding under the New York State Community Development Block Grant Small Cities Program and authorizing Drinking Water Enhancement Program grant application and acceptance.
All meetings are open to the public.
AVCS School Board agenda planned
CLINTONVILLE -- The AuSable Valley Central School Board will meet at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Middle School-High School auditorium in Clintonville.
It is anticipated that the meeting will begin with presentations, followed by an executive session. The regular session will immediately follow the executive session.
The board will consider special-education recommendations, a contract for Health and Welfare Services with Peru Central School District, approval of a memorandum of agreement between the district and the CSEA for 2007 to 2010 and personnel issues.
A budget meeting will follow.
All meetings are open to the public.
Town of Peru seeks zoning, planning members
PERU -- The Town of Peru has openings for the zoning and planing boards.
Interested Peru residents may submit a written letter to the Town Hall by April 16 to the attention of the town supervisor.
Willsboro Assessment Board has openings
WILLSBORO -- The Town of Willsboro has vacancies on the Assessment Board of Review.
