KEESEVILLE -- For the last couple of weeks, State Police have been busy investigating a series of vehicle larcenies in the Keeseville area.
Police say thieves have been targeting unlocked vehicles after dark, stealing anything from loose change and sunglasses to more expensive items, such as iPods and cell phones.
The thefts have been sporadic but ongoing, police said Tuesday, and have left numerous area residents fuming.
Police have been trying to track the culprits for at least a month and are working on a number of ways to try to catch the thieves and stop the crime spree.
This week, police and village officials are asking residents in and around the village to keep their vehicles locked and remove all valuables.
They are also hoping anyone with information about the break-ins will contact Plattsburgh-based State Police at 563-3761.
