LYON MOUNTAIN — Two more people have been charged with trafficking heroin and crack cocaine between New York City and the North Country.
Anthony W. McArthur, 24, and Malcolm White, 24, both of Brooklyn, were charged with two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, following a search of a Lyon Mountain home last week, according to a news release from the Franklin County District Attorney's Office.
Four others were taken into custody on Monday, dismantling an alleged pipeline that was distributing crack and heroin.
The suspects were under investigation for six months.
McArthur and White were arraigned in Plattsburgh Town Court and taken to Clinton County Jail.
White is being held without bail, and McArthur is being held in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
The others involved in the case are: Kevin Handly, 41, of 58 Washington St. was indicted by a grand jury for two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He pleaded not guilty to all counts, and his case was adjourned to Feb. 17 for a pre-trial conference.
Handly is being held in Franklin County Jail on $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 insurance bond. Donald S. Williams, 19, of Brooklyn was indicted on three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He pleaded not guilty and will have a pre-trial conference Feb. 17.
Williams is being held in County Jail without bail. Megan L. Swinyer, 19, of Malone was indicted for third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
She was arraigned on an indictment, pleaded not guilty and was sent to County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 insurance bond. Adam M. Petell, 25, of Burke was indicted on two counts each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He pleaded not guilty, and his case is on for a pre-trial hearing on Feb. 17.
Petell is being held in County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 insurance bond.
