Main Street funding available in Tupper Lake

TUPPER LAKE — Property owners can still participate in the Town of Tupper Lake’s Main Street Program before grant funding expires in October.

The target area includes Park Street between Wawbeek and Lakeview avenues; Main Street between 75 Main and 126 Demars Boulevard; and Depot Street.

Grant money can be used for facade and building improvements, with priority going to endangered historic buildings and properties whose repair would help contribute to the economic recovery of the target area, a press release said. As much as 75 percent of project costs will be paid by the state on a reimbursement basis.

Interested property owners are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Applications will be reviewed and funded on a first-come, first-served basis.
