Fall from roof fatal

SARANAC — Larry E. Woodward died on Friday morning when he fell from a two-story home at 215 Cold Brook Road.

The 65-year-old Plattsburgh man was alone, working on the roof, when he took the fall just before 11:30 a.m., according to Plattsburgh-based State Police.

It appeared to be accidental, police said.

Saranac and Dannemora rescue crews were called with urgency to the property by Clinton County dispatch for “an extreme fall.” Woodward was pronounced dead there by County Coronor David F. Donah.

A postmortem will take place at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh at 9 p.m. Saturday.

According to the Clinton County Real Property Office, the home is owned by Dianne Wood.

Police said the investigation was ongoing.

No further information was available Friday.
