Don’t be incendiary or tasteless. Those qualities are subjective, of course, and our editors will be the arbiters.

Do not identify yourself in the main content area of the article content form. Only by enforcing this rule can the moderators prevent unscrupulous commenters from falsely identifying themselves as someone they are not.

Don't type in all caps. It is considered the Internet equivalent of shouting.

In sports articles, do not criticize officiating.

SARANAC LAKE — Fireworks wrap up this year's Saranac Lake Winter Carnival tonight, but there's plenty to do before the first rockets bedazzle the night ski.

Here's the schedule:

TODAY

10 a.m.: Adult X-C Skiing, Dewey Mountain. 891-2697.

11 a.m.: Bionique Snowflake Volleyball Tournament, Saranac Lake Civic Center Rotary Field; and Showshoe Softball, Elks Field, John Munn Road.

11 a.m.: Casey McHugh Pond Hockey Tournament, Bloomingdale Fields. 637-4669.

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Joey Izzo on Piano, Left Bank Cafe.

Noon: Saranac Lake Teachers Association Kids X-C Ski Races, Dewey Mountain. 891-2697.

12:30 to 3 p.m.: Snowy Owl Face Painting for Children, Harrietstown Town Hall.

2 p.m.: Kiddie Parade from Saranac Lake Free Library to the Town Hall.

3 p.m.: 17th-annual Winter Carnival Baroque Concert, Methodist Church, donation, sponsored by the Saranac Lake Young Arts Association.

7:30 p.m.: Cape Air Carnival Slide Show at the Ice Palace.

8 p.m.: Gala Fireworks Display at the Ice Palace.
